Charges for legal services for obtaining and forwarding the certified copy of the court order
Desiree: My attorney has informed me that his time to obtain the certified copy of the court order, to correct your error, came to 2 hours. At a cost of $300/hour that comes to a total of $600. I respectfully request your prompt payment of that sum. If payment is not received within 30 days of this notice, I will be compelled to pursuing legal action for that sum plus any additional legal fees resulting from such legal action. Sincerely, Patrick Fox

There was no legal agreement made. I offered to pay. You countered that offer and said I was to give you 1.5 hours worth of time BEFORE you would authorize your attorney to get the document. I did not agree to these terms. I may not know family law, but I did take business law in college. No legal agreement was obtained between the 2 parties requiring me to pay you for anything now. You can take that to court as though.

And if you do, I will see charges of entrapment brought upon you.

Entrapment laws only apply to the actions of law enforcement officials acting under the color of law, in their official capacities.

Also, if you wouldn't mind, may you inform me of what you believe "entrapment" means? Because even without the "law enforcement agent" requirement, I don't see how I lured you into committing a crime. Thanks, Fox

I paid the cost of the certification and cost per pages along with the cost of express overnighting the request to the courthouse on Wednesday of last week (12/04/2013) since I had no knowledge of you and your attorney obtaining it. You never agreed to any of the terms I offered regarding payment for the custody order and you offered to pay all visitation costs. Until the judge orders it, I am not paying for your lawyer costs.

Do you have proof of any of those costs you claim to have incurred? If so, please produce it.You never asked.*since I had no knowledge of you and your attorney obtaining it.*Why would I agree to have my attorney go to the courthouse to obtain a document he had already gone and obtained. That's ridiculous. It is not my fault that you were not intelligent enough to inquire whether I had already done so - you only asked if I would (again, future tense). And since I already had, then of course I would not do so again.*You never agreed to any of the terms I offered regarding payment for the custody order and you offered to pay all visitation costs.*Thank you. That's all I needed to hear. Fox*Until the judge orders it, I am not paying for your lawyer costs.*

Also, since I am the one that actually paid for the certified copy of the order which the passport office should have sent to you with the passport, I request you forward it to me for my records. I believe you have my address. Or, if you wish to continue playing your childish, trailer park games, you can forward it to my attorney and he can forward it to me. Thanks, Fox

So that I am completely clear then: for the purposes of family court (not civil court) you are refusing to pay any portion of the cost of obtaining the certified copy of the court order which was required in order to obtain Gabriel's passport in time for him to travel to Canada for his Winter Break visitation. Is that correct? Fox
