Medical records from Gabriel's birth
Desiree: I just got off the phone with Blue Cross. I'm trying to track down some evidence or records to support your claim that they billed you $64,000 for medical care relating to Gabriel's birth. I'm having some difficulty, though, because the records are from more than 10 years ago and they have, apparently, been purged. The kind folks at Blue Cross said they will look into it and try to "unpurge" the records for me. They said they will call me back when they have located the records. In the meantime, if you have anything to support your claim that they put $64,000 on your credit that would help a lot. Maybe copies of bills from Blue Cross, or Good Samaritan, or a credit report showing the charges? For the record, the plan that we had at the time was supposed to have completely covered all costs related to child birth - including the 3 months of premature care and the helicopter. So, the fact that you were billed for any of it, and that any unpaid charges for those bills have adversely affected your credit, is a serious issue. If you have experienced ANY adverse treatment (for example, being denied credit or treated as a credit risk) as a result of medical expenses which were not paid, but which should not have been charged in the first place, then it may put Blue Cross and/or Good Samaritan and/or whoever the helicopter company was, in a position of liability. In the absolute least you would be able to have the negative records removed from your credit report. If you're so inclined, you may choose to verify what I'm saying. The person I've been speaking with is Mireya, and her number is 800-777-6000. Please let me know. Thank you, Fox
